Madrid de los Austrias consists of the DJ and A&R of Sunshine Enterprises Heinz Tronigger & the sound wizard Michael "Pogo" Kreiner.
Heinz Tronigger is one of the masterminds and founder of Sunshine Enterprises, which is an independent music company running two clubs in Vienna (Passage / Roxy / Meierei closed). Beside these clubs, Sunshine Enterprises also holds a studio, runs a label and organises the Sequence Network Festival. Since 10 years Sunshine Enterprises has been playing the role of being a communication center and an interface for musicians and art-related protagonists, as well as their settings in Vienna. Sunshine Enterprises has ensured that its activities are the strong conjunction of innovative music culture. Ever since Sunshine Enterprises has been involved in the support of events and sound recordings.
Heinz Tronigger´s dj performances lead him to countries like Portugal, Germany, Spain, France, Switzerland, Bosnia, Italy, Russia, Uk, Mexico and the United States.
Pogo on the other hand is a gifted instrumentalist and one of the most demanded studiomusicians in Austria. Pogo toured all over the world with his band, played back in the days with the legendary Falco and is also a very talented actor. He also produces Nigel Hayes, Frankie Valentine and Fernando Paiva for the Sunshine Enterprises label.
Heavy vino tinto, flamenco and other typical andalusian flavours inspired the MDLA duo to their sound excursion combining a laid back laissez faire feeling with exotic rhythm shades.
With their first release "Dove Estuta" they had an immediate club hit and showed how to fuse beats & pieces together with live elements in order to create an organic fusion of jazz, breakbeats and flamenco. With their critically acclaimed 12 inch release "Ole" on Sunshine Enterprises (SR002) & their follow up release “Sport Ep” (SR006), they delivered some tasty teasers for their long awaited album “Amor”(SR007) which came out in june 2001. They gained a lot of airplay in the finer radiostations all over the world and lots of good reputation in the music press.
In Oct 2004 their second album “Mas Amor” (SR040) comes out! One can be anxious to listen to this even more mature work. Also the 12 inches out of this album with remixes from well established and experienced musicians from all over the world will give us some nice surprises. Watch out for that!!
Madrid de los Austrias is also known for their amazing live extravaganza which showcase some of the finest studio and live musicians.
